10 reasons NOT to buy one….

These reasons are courtesy of my husband who has a different opinion on spending $2,370 on a Thermomix.

According to him here are 10 items we could have purchased instead:

1. New loungesuite
2. Parts for his Kingswood
3. Chainsaw
4. Going on holiday
5. Outdoor pizza oven
6. New shower
7. Circular saw
8. Garden shed
9. Home gym
10. Car!

Of course he got a bit tired of hearing me talking about the Thermomix constantly, so he finally relented just to shut me up I think. It goes to show that nagging really does have benefits sometimes.

15 reasons to purchase a Thermomix

I went to a Thermomix demo four years ago which was awesome. A five course meal of delicious food and no pressure to buy one. I wasn’t in a financial position back then to sign up for one, but its true to say I have wanted one from way back then. Here are some reasons why it is so fab:
1. Saves time. Makes good food fast. You don’t need to slave away in the kitchen for hours.
2. You know exactly what is going into your food. No hidden preservatives or flavour enhancers
3. Stainless steel blades that stay sharp
4. Great recipies with computer chip to taylor make for your family
5. Replaces 12 kitchen appliances
6. Reduces plastic packaging
7. Access to online recipies
8. Online recipie site creates shopping lists for you
9.Kids can use it as it doesn’t get too hot
10. Cleans itself!
11. Great for people with special dietary requirements or food allergies
12. Cooking with it is cost effective
13. You can cook several dishes at the same time
14. It doesn’t take up much bench space
15. 24 months interest free repayments available (about $25 pw)
16. Does the groceries itself (ok, maybe that was a slight exaggeration but you get the picture!)
The price tag of $2,370 is hard to swallow, but for the reasons above I think its a smart choice.

I feel like an expectant mum

I am a patient person…..normally, however, when it comes to patiently waiting for my thermomix to arrive, I am failing. It’s been two weeks since I signed the forms with my consultant but I still haven’t been given a delivery date yet. In my excitement I told lots of friends and family about my purchase but in hindsight I should of kept my mouth shut as it’s like when you are 8 months pregnant and everyone asks when the baby is due and you still have ages to wait and it drives you crazy. Hopefully I will hear something tomorrow. On the up-side it has given me a chance to clean out my pantry. (I found some old food from 2014!) We have a couple of pigs so they were pretty happy with the feast.
